What type of advisor joins Onward or one of the affiliated firms?
All advisors are welcome. Whether you’re considering a 1099, W-2, IAR or have your own RIA, we’re structured to accommodate every type of affiliation structure.
Is there an equity opportunity to become an owner?
Eligible firms and advisors have the opportunity for equity participation to share in the growth of their firm.
What Custodians do you use?
Onward Advisors is structured as a multi-custodial RIA. This gives you and your clients choice and the ability to transition your practice without disrupting your clients with a mandatory change of custodian.
What is your payout structure for firms? For Advisors?
Our core values include transparency and delivering value for our affiliated firms and advisors. You’ll receive full disclosure of all platform fees (including retention, expenses, spreads charged, etc.) so you can design the optimal balance between platform fees and your net payout. Our goal is to build enterprise value for our affiliated firms by providing efficient, cost-effective access to the resources and support you need to grow.
What technology do you use?
We leverage the technology of your existing custodian to provide a seamless transition for you and your clients. For hybrid advisors who need a “friendly broker-dealer” we utilize the adaptive technology of Wedbush Securities, which utilizes cloud-based APIs to integrate leading, third-party technology vendors (Envestnet, Redtail, etc.) currently used in your practice.
Do you offer ongoing compliance & supervision?
Onward Advisors has a CCO and supervision team to satisfy your ongoing state, federal and SRO compliance and supervision requirements.
Do you offer a transitional compensation package?
We offer transitional compensation either in cash, equity, or a combination of both. We also offer affiliated firms access to growth capital and our network of third-party recruiting firms to build your practice or your firm.
Who would be an attractive candidate for Onward Advisors?
We’re looking to work with advisors who have built a practice generating over $1MM in revenue, with over $150MM in client assets under care. For interested firms, we best serve those with over $2MM in annual fee revenue and over $250MM in client assets under care.
Is there a Succession Plan or “Exit strategy” in place for affiliated firms?
Onward Advisors was designed to leverage an ecosystem of highly successful, advisor-owned firms with diverse ownership, experience, and expertise. We anticipate and will facilitate transitions and exits upon achieving enterprise value and personal growth goals within this ecosystem to preserve an exceptional client experience with an attractive exit for the owner. Will I have access to public and private deal flow?
Onward Advisors provides access to award winning equity research, private deals, M&A, venture funds, alternative investments, annuities and insurance through our affiliated entities and partner firms.
What other resources does Onward Provide?
At Onward Advisors, you’ll have access to all of the resources of a full-service, national wealth management firm through our affiliate firm, Wedbush Securities. Some of these resources include a proprietary, turnkey asset management program founded on goals-based investing; marketing, branding and web-design; access to our network of third-party consultants and contractors who help with practice management, coaching, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, legal and supervision.
